Summer Porch Pillow Covers

I made these outdoor pillow covers the beginning of summer and was waiting to share them until I had the chance to make a few more things and time got away from me.

So I decided late was better than never. I spotted this coral fabric and bought several yards to make pillow covers and had hopes of making a couple beach bags but that will have to be next summer.

I cut a couple starfish out of drop cloth and stitched them onto the fronts of two of the pillows. Then for the vertical pillows I added a ruffle and a strip of ribbon and as always I stitched ribbons onto the tops so I can tie them to the chairs. That way I don't have to worry about pillows blowing down the street during a storm.

"You've Been BOO'ed" Paper Cones

I was asked to teach a craft here in my neighborhood and so I decided that because of the time of year it would be a nice time to kick-off the "You've Been BOO'ed" fun in the neighborhood. Craft Class goers will learn how to make paper cones, paper pinwheels, pom-poms and then we will fill the cones with candy. After the class the crafters are supposed to hang this on a neighbors door knob, ring the door bell and run as fast as they can. The object is to not be seen. Hopefully the receiver will carry on the fun. It will be neat to see how quickly the BOO moves through the neighborhood.

Fruit Butter Label Printables

I shared some peach butter packaging with you a little bit ago and I thought I'd offer some free printables for the peach butter as well as apple butter and pumpkin butter. With autumn beckoning at our doorstep, apple harvest season underway and pumpkin season around the corner I thought they just might come in handy for some of you. Especially if you're like me and can't resist the pick-your-own farms. We always pick way more than we can eat in their fresh state. Always searching for new recipes and ways to preserve the newly picked from the tree/vine taste.
You can see how I used these graphic strip printables in the previous blog post. These labels are for personal use only.
